The character of Alice is inspired by Dodgson's middle sister, Alice Liddell, who encouraged him to pen the tale. Initially handling illustrations himself, Carroll later commissioned John Tenniel to create the drawings. By the time 'Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There' was published in 1871, Alice had already captured readers' hearts. Both works are renowned for their absurd imagery, peculiar logic, and delightful wordplay.
